Sahara Conservation is an international non-profit organisation dedicated to conserving the endangered wildlife and habitats of Sahara and Sahel.
The Sahara is home to a biodiversity and communities whose lifestyle, and even survival, are intimately connected to the careful use of the resources available in nature. Over-hunting, over-grazing, droughts and a lack of resources dedicated to nature conservation in the region have led to the loss or extreme degradation of many ecosystems, and to the decline and even extinction of species that were once common.
